Travel Pre-Op RN in Seattle, WA

A Travel Pre-Op Registered Nurse will provide preoperative and Phase II recovery care in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Seattle, Washington. The unit serves inpatient and outpatient surgical patients, including adults with a small pediatric population. It has 29 beds and uses Epic charting.

• Perform pre-op assessments and review history and physicals
• Prepare patients for surgery with education, medications, and consent verification
• Monitor patients in Phase II recovery and support discharge home
• Assist with perioperative care for general surgery, vascular, plastics, ENT, gynecology, thoracic, ophthalmology, dental, and podiatry cases
• Support pre-op and post-op care for cath lab vascular and endoscopy cases
• Document care in Epic and communicate patient status to the surgical team

• Washington Registered Nurse license or compact Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• 1 year of perioperative nursing experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Inpatient, ambulatory, Phase I PACU, and Phase II recovery experience
• Dysrhythmia recognition, IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, conscious sedation, medication reconciliation, and discharge teaching skills

• Arterial line management
• External ventricular drain care
• ICP monitoring
• Ventilated patient care
• Port access and maintenance
• Peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
