Travel Medical Lab Tech in Columbia, SC

A Travel Medical Laboratory Technician will support general laboratory testing in an acute care hospital for a 13-week contract in Columbia, South Carolina. Generalist blood bank work and Epic charting are key parts of the role.

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing across generalist bench areas
• Accession specimens and verify patient identification and proper labeling
• Run automated analyzers and manual testing methods with quality checks
• Complete blood bank testing, crossmatching, and antibody screening
• Handle specimen receipt, storage, and blood product thawing and cooling
• Review quality control and report test results accurately
• Assist with rapid tests, PCR testing, wet preps, and other lab procedures

• Medical Laboratory Technician credential
• Generalist clinical laboratory experience with blood bank procedures
• Epic charting system experience
• Prior travel experience

• ASCP, ASCP-MLS, or ASCP-MLT certification
• Antibody typing by tube method
• Community hospital clinical laboratory experience
