Travel Labor and Delivery RN in Kodiak Island, AK

A Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide obstetric and newborn care in a critical access hospital in Kodiak Island, Alaska on a 26-week contract. First-time travelers are welcome. The unit uses Epic and serves neonates, infants and adults in a 4-room, 4-bed labor and delivery unit within a Level IV trauma setting.

• Provide labor, delivery and postpartum nursing care
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using external fetal monitoring
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections and obstetric procedures
• Administer medications, blood products and IV therapies as ordered
• Support newborn assessment, thermoregulation and breastfeeding education
• Triage obstetrical patients and respond to emergencies
• Document care in Epic and coordinate with interdisciplinary services

• Alaska Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS, NRP and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• 1 year of labor and delivery experience
• Experience with obstetric, postpartum and newborn care

• AWHONN Advanced certification
• Amnioinfusion and IUPC use
• Internal fetal monitoring
• Epic charting experience
