Travel Float RN in Lafayette, IN

A Travel Pediatric Registered Nurse will care for pediatric medical-surgical patients in an acute care hospital during a 12-week contract in Lafayette, Indiana. The 6-bed unit uses Cerner and serves infants, children, adolescents and adults with a 1:3 ratio.

• Assess pediatric patients and update plans of care
• Administer medications, IV therapy and enteral feedings
• Monitor oxygen needs, wound care and infection control
• Perform peripheral line care, phlebotomy and IV starts
• Support pediatric dosage calculations and patient safety
• Collaborate with the care team and educate families

• Indiana Registered Nurse license
• BLS and PALS
• 2 years of pediatric medical-surgical experience
• Pediatric dosage calculations, peripheral line care, IV starts and phlebotomy
• Enteral feedings, wound care, oxygen delivery systems, infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE

• Blood and blood product administration, port care and central line blood draws
• Central line and implanted line care, NG tube management, chest tube care, fractures and hyperbilirubinemia
• PEWS, rapid response support, Cerner charting and charge experience
