Travel Behavioral Health RN in Mason City, IA

A Travel Behavioral Health Registered Nurse will provide care in a psychiatric unit at an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Mason City, Iowa.

• Assess mental status, safety needs, and suicide risk
• Monitor patients for behavioral changes and escalation
• Administer medications and follow treatment plans
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques
• Coordinate care with the treatment team
• Document responses, observations, and interventions
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education
• Maintain a safe environment on the psychiatric unit

• Active Iowa Registered Nurse license
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Behavioral health assessment skills
• Therapeutic communication and crisis intervention skills
• Safe medication administration skills
