Travel Utilization Review RN in Torrance, CA

A Travel Utilization Review Registered Nurse will review medical necessity and utilization in a 100% remote unit for a 13-week contract in Torrance, California. The role supports adult and pediatric patients across inpatient, outpatient, and observation levels of care and uses Epic.

• Review admissions and continued stay cases for medical necessity
• Apply InterQual criteria to utilization determinations
• Document reviews and outcomes in Epic
• Coordinate with physicians, case management, and managed care partners
• Interpret Medicare and utilization management rules for reviews
• Support inpatient, outpatient, and observation case review

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• 3 years of acute medical care management or utilization management experience in a hospital setting
• InterQual criteria experience
• Recent Epic charting experience
• Medicare utilization management knowledge

• Pediatric utilization review experience
• Pre-certification and prior authorization review
• Retrospective review experience
• California Medi-Cal knowledge
