Travel Physical Therapy Assistant in Alturas, CA

A Travel Physical Therapy Assistant will provide therapy treatment in an outpatient clinic in Alturas, California on a 9-week contract. The caseload averages 8-9 patients per day, with 1-hour evaluations and 45-minute follow-up visits. The role works with common therapy modalities and documents patient response to care.

• Provide treatment under the direction of a Physical Therapist
• Deliver therapeutic exercise, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, soft tissue mobilization, taping, and orthotic/prosthetic training
• Use therapy modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, diathermy, and infrared light
• Document treatment response and patient progress in the record
• Communicate changes in condition or treatment needs to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Maintain a safe, clean treatment area and support patient and family education
• Assist with patient scheduling and front office coverage as needed

• Active California Physical Therapist Assistant license
• Graduation from an APTA approved Physical Therapist Assistant program
• BCLS certification
• Proficiency with physical therapy procedures and modalities
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Acute care experience
• Skilled nursing experience
• Outpatient physical therapy experience
