Travel Phlebotomist in Eureka, CA

A Travel Phlebotomist will collect and process specimens in an acute care hospital phlebotomy unit during a 13-week contract in Eureka, California. The unit serves adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with about 60-100 patients daily and Epic charting.

• Collect blood specimens using vacutainer and syringe methods
• Perform specimen processing, including centrifuging and aliquoting body fluids
• Label, store, and protect specimens for laboratory testing
• Transport specimens to the laboratory and reference labs
• Provide post-venipuncture site care and maintain aseptic technique
• Handle chilled and warmed specimens and follow proper disposal procedures

• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I license
• BLS certification
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience
• Trauma Level I experience
• Prior travel experience
• Venipuncture and specimen handling skills

• Pediatric phlebotomy
• Finger and heel stick experience
• Clinic or outpatient lab experience
