Travel Pediatrics PACU RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse will provide postoperative care in a pediatric perioperative unit for a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role supports a 10-bed preoperative and postoperative unit plus a 4-bed surgical observation unit, with family-centered care for infants, pediatrics, and adolescents. Charting is in Epic.

• Assess pediatric patients before and after surgery
• Monitor recovery, pain, and vital signs
• Coordinate care with anesthesia, surgery, and interdisciplinary teams
• Support overnight observation and discharge readiness
• Provide family education and reassurance
• Respond to changes in condition and escalate concerns

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending allowed
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• 2 years of pediatric PACU, Phase I PACU, and Phase II Recovery experience
• Inpatient pediatric care experience
• Epic charting experience
• Trauma Level I experience

• Airway assessment and end-tidal CO2 monitoring
• IV, arterial line, central line, and PICC care
• Medication reconciliation, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, narcotics, and reversal agents
• Procedural sedation, malignant hyperthermia protocols, blood product administration, and pain management
