Travel Med Surg RN in Plano, TX

A Travel Med Surg Orthopedics Trauma Registered Nurse will provide care on a 36-bed acute care hospital unit in Plano, Texas for a 13-week contract. The unit cares for polytrauma and orthopedic patients, uses Meditech, and typically works at 1:5 ratios.

• Provide bedside care for orthopedic and trauma med-surg patients
• Monitor telemetry and report changes in patient condition
• Administer heparin and Protonix drips per nursing orders
• Assess drains, pain, mobility, and neuro status
• Coordinate care with the charge nurse and CNAs
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in Meditech

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• 1 year of med surg experience
• BLS
• Strong assessment and communication skills
• Experience caring for orthopedic and trauma patients

• Orthopedic and trauma patient experience
