About this job

A Travel Direct Observation Unit Registered Nurse will provide monitoring and nursing care in an observation unit on a 13 week contract in Asheville, North Carolina. The 20 bed unit uses Cerner/PowerChart, supports 1:5 to 1:6 ratios, and sits in a Magnet-designated hospital with a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor telemetry and report rhythm changes
Assess observation patients and update care plans
Start IVs and support fluid therapy
Insert Foley catheters as needed
Document care in Cerner/PowerChart
Collaborate with the charge nurse and care team

Qualifications

North Carolina Registered Nurse license
Basic Life Support certification
Telemetry certification
Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program
